Making room for learning to change.

A new tool is rarely the whole problem. The starting point might be a course students cannot take yet, a teacher who needs time to try something, or families asking for clearer guidance.

Name the need.
Work out a next step.

I look for a specific need, work with colleagues on a response, and stay involved long enough to see what needs adjusting.

At Dulwich College Beijing I am a Learning Technology Coach, Digital Design & Creative Media teacher, and Whole-College E-Safety Lead. I distinguish my own curriculum design and programme coordination from institutional policy approvals, safeguarding case authority, and decisions made collaboratively by school leaders.

4 Year Vision.

A whole-college proposal to align best practices and extend presence on campus within four years.

Designed and school-approved

From one week to ongoing lessons.

Digital Dilon began with Digital Citizenship Week in 2023 and developed into scaffolded early-years learning and wider digital citizenship and AI literacy provision.

Course requests

A connected Creative Media pathway.

I proposed and secured approval for Year 9 Digital Design, Years 10–11 Creative Media, and Year 12 Cambridge AS Digital Media & Design. Around two-thirds of Year 9 requested Creative Media as a first or second choice. About 40% of the incoming year group requested a Creative Media demonstration lesson. Requests show interest, not enrollment.

Delivered / in use

Professional learning with other schools.

Alongside school coaching, I facilitated seven separate regional professional-development engagements: four general sessions and three specialist digital-safety sessions. Attendance and reach are described separately from unique people.

CETI Magazine

I piloted, designed, curated, and published CETI Magazine, the Centre for Educational Technology & Innovation magazine, to share best practices and examples of high achievers on campus in educational technology, AI, and digital safety. Full articles and recent covers are not shared publicly to protect student privacy.

01

Listen and audit

Map existing curriculum, staff needs, family questions and risk decisions.

02

Agree priorities

Name owners, evidence needed, local procedures and the decisions that need approval.

03

Design and pilot

Co-design an age-appropriate lesson, coaching resource or family conversation small enough to try.

04

Support implementation

Stay close to teachers and revise the approach when classroom evidence calls for it.

05

Evaluate and sustain

Review implementation and outcomes only where they are measured, then set the next termly checkpoint.

Other initiatives / verify before publication

Creative practice with a wider reach.

City Hack, SE21 Expo, Makerspace CCA coordination and Media Mentorship Month sit alongside the three main cases. I describe these as coordinated or advocated initiatives unless delivery, participation and outcomes are independently confirmed.

School-owned frameworks and materials remain described, rather than offered as downloadable templates.
